Description
Nadya’s vision was to give the ancient Bethlehem craft of olive wood carving a modern edge, allowing it to be more accessible for people around the world. Olive wood is a durable, dense and high quality wood with grains of colors ranging from cream through pink to black. Nadya tries to manipulate the surface of the wood as little as possible, to stay true to the beauty of the natural grains. She likes to claim that the jewellery in her collection is partially her own design and partially nature’s.
Her real last name is Hazbun, which is a very large and deeply rooted catholic family in Bethlehem. Her mother is from the Czech Republic where she later did her post-secondary studies in design.
