Faten Nayroukh is a dynamic lady and the founder of Salsal. She specializes in functional and decorative hand made pottery. As a result her work combines between simplicity, beauty, modernity and have a timeless quality.
The pottery products owe an allegiance to Palestinian history but in a modern style. The images on her work are derived from the Palestinian environment which is known to be rich in flora and fauna species. Much focus is given to species which are related to the Palestinian culture and heritage such as olive, wheat and anemone. Several techniques are used such as hand building, throwing on the wheel or formed by molds. Her products are made from clay using strong colors and non toxic glazes.
