In specific, leather making has been the Zatari family passion since 1928. Each piece of leather gets collected from butchers in Jerusalem and around the middle east. Cow leather is the most popular among all. Goat leather is the most unique upon all others.
It takes weeks for the leather to be properly cleaned and ready for the next steps in preparation. Each sheet goes into through several processes until it is properly tanned. Thereafter the leather is cut into smaller pieces to make a variety of items including mostly shoes, bags, document holders and keyrings.
Also after producing tons of big leather sheets, local and international businesses purchase the requested quantity for their companies to manufacture their own range of leather items.
The most popular shades are black, camel, orange and brown. Other seasonal shades of green, red, purple, blue, pink, turquoise etc are also available, yet only once or twice yearly
