This sculpture is made from locally sourced olive wood. It is crafted by a well-known Christian master carver, Jeries Facouseh and therefore highly sought after in the Holy Land.
This carving recalls the story of Jesus instructing his disciples to cast their fishing net into the Sea of Galilee (John 21:1-14). The abundant catch that day signals the growth of God’s kingdom. This growth would follow after Jesus’ ascension as well as the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the church.
Due to the nature of olive wood and the individual processes the product may differ slightly from the picture posted.
